The Arabian Horse Association's Region 5 encompasses Alaska, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana.

Region 5 has earned the respect of Arabian horse competitors across the country. Whether for show, endurance or dressage, horses from the Pacific Northwest are among the best in the nation.

Region 5 Youth - Officer Bios

Haley Fryrear - Co-Director

haley fryrearI am Haley Fryrear, I am a 16-yr. old Jr at Lincoln Hill High School. I currently own 3 horses and compete at 4-H, open and A circuit.  In addition to being this year’s Region 5 Co Director I am also the Vice President for my 4-H club. I want to pursue career in farrier/ hoof care. I began showing when I was 18 months old, riding in my first leadline class. I enjoy riding and competing in many events – saddleseat, hunter, western, jumping, dressage, reining, cows and driving. My mom and grandma have been great supporters for my horse and showing.

Tennessee SandersTennessee Sanders - Vice Director

I am a freshman at Yelm high school. I am 15 years old. I started my riding career when I was four years old and instantly fell in love with Arabian horses. I’ve been riding with N Joy Arabians for about eleven years now and have been showing my pure bread, bay gelding for four years. I am also the Yelm FFA reporter and will be a part of the first freshman FFA officer team. My major disciplines are jumping and dressage and I plan to adventure out into different things such as trail and showmanship. I’ve done really well with my horse over the years and have gone to youth and sport horse nationals. I’ve won the versatile Arabian award two years in a row at Donida farms. I am a 13 time regional champion, 4 time reserve regional champion, 2 time youth national top 10, and 5 time sport horse top ten. My horse has earned both his legion of honor and his supreme legion of honor. I am so thankful to be a part of such a lovely group of equestrians and I can’t wait to be an active member of the Region 5 youth board.

Audrey PriceAudrey Price - Secretary

Audrey is 17 and  has been riding since she was six and has been able to work with a lot of amazing horses and people here in Region 5. While she do not own a horse of her own, she has had the opportunity to show a number of great horses over the years. She loves trying new things and will ride any horse that she can, in any discipline.

Sophia Janssen MaddenSophia Janssen-Madden - Treasurer

Sophia is 16 and has been riding horses around seven years, and started showing Arabians when she was twelve. She owns two horses; one purebred bay mare, and one half arabian bay gelding. Because of the way horses have impacted her life, she is heading towards a career in veterinary sciences. Aside from riding my horses, a large part of her life is music(specifically singing). She feels very fortunate to be able to pursue her two callings in life thanks to her supportive family.
