Rider Profiles From Region 5 Championship Show and Off Site Sport Horse Championship Show
First of all I want to thank everyone who responded to my “Who’s Going to Regionals” request.
~ Michelle Pease-Paulsen
Let’s start with the Region 5 Off-Site Sport Horse Championship:
Four yeas ago the Celebration show started with Gwen and Kaye as a two day Region 5 qualifier. Then in 2014 the Region contracted with Gwen to add the Region 5 Off-Site Sport Horse Championships in conjunction with the Celebration show. 2016 was the third year that Regional show has been hosted at Donida Farms. The Region wants to thank Gwen and Kaye for managing, running and putting on such an amazing show. This year we had large numbers….165 between pre show and championship. According to Kaye..These numbers make the 2016 Show the largest Sport Horse Only Show….second only to Sport Horse Nationals. The weather for the most part was cooperative. We had a bit of rain and wonderful sun at the end of the show.
Also at this show, our youth held a games night where we had about 16 kids playing various games such as two legged race, build a bridle and tug-of-war. We also had a silent auction benefiting the youth where we raised $600.

Region 5 Championship Show:
2016 was another great year for the Championship Show….we had wonderful classes with very talented horses and riders. The weather was a bit challenging this year…with bouts of rain on and off for most of the show. However, the rain held off and the sun came out for the exhibitors party and the Horseman’s Distress Fund Fundraiser. The Region would like to thank Shannon Bedell for managing the dunk tank event and for everyone who supported it and of course a very special thank you goes out to the great trainers and clients that volunteered to be dunked. This event raised $3,925 for the Distress Fund and Mike Whelihan.
I want to thank everyone again that responded to my request for who’s going to regionals….lets take a look at our riders.
